CumulusMX doesn't display Blake-Larsen SunRecorder data

Post by Gyvate »

Just recently installed CumulusMX on my Rpi4 - it receives its data from my FineOffset WH2650WiFi (a functional Ecowitt GW1000 clone).
It's running, shows my Weather Station data, so far so good.

I'm also one of the so far very few owners of a Blake-Larsen Sun Recorder.
I understand the instructions such that the per minute created file SRsunshine.dat is to be placed into the /home/pi/CumulusMX/data folder to be picked up by CumulusMX.

Even though the B-L SR recorder option is switched on (Cumulus.ini: UseBlakeLarsen=1 in the [Solar] stanza) and CumulusMX was restarted (several times), the Current Data display in the Solar section remains 0.0 h - and the content of the SRsunshine.dat, which now gets updated every minute in the ~/CumulusMX/data folder, is different from zero.
Latest content example:
1.30
0.00
8.21
01:17:47
false
What am I missing ?
Anyone can advise ?
Thanks!

The file should go in the main Cumulus program folder, not the /data folder - (no idea why, but that is how it was originally configured).

Hi,
The B-L sunrecorder data does not show in the Cumulus Solar Radiation log files. The Sunshine hours is the only thing in the monthly log files. The sunshine related webtags can also be used.

Enjoy,

Thanks - that worked !
Somebody should change the wrong instruction in the WiKi then - or make clear what exactly is meant by the Cumulus data folder (obviously not .../CumulusMX/data).

Hi Paul,
Nice to meet you again in this forum. :D (last time was WXforum)
and thanks for the hint.
The sunshine hours now at least show in the current data page. ;)
Over the history data I will ponder later.

Hi,
Looks like there has been a change from Cumulus1 to now CumulusMX. I had used B-L with Cumulus1 from when Steve added it in v1.9.2 Oct 3, 2011 and at that time the SRsunshine.dat file was in the \data folder. I had the B-L running until June 2019 when we moved to a new home, and still have the last SRsunshine.dat file from that date in my Cumulus1 \data folder. So that Cumulus help needs to be changed for CumulusMX.

EDIT: too slow in typing, I see mark already has changed the Wiki.

Enjoy,
Paul
