Batteries

Post by KarlS »

After having trouble with alkaline batteries at low temperatures in the transmitter of my FO station, I switched to lithium batteries (specifically: Energizer Ultimate Lithium). Now, before the snow gets too deep, I went out today to check the batteries and was surprised to discover that I installed this pair in October 2012! In these 3+ years the batteries powered through a week of -30°C in February 2014 and longer cold spells at around -20°C in 2012 and 2013. Amazing!

I decided to leave them in the transmitter and see if they will survive another winter ...
