I was thinking of buying a cheap android tablet and configuring it to my CumulusMX internal web server and mounting it on the wall as a permanent weather station.
Is this something that's been done before?

$42 tablet.
I was thinking of putting up a page with constant weather info and using it for a display. Could also put other fun stuff on it as well, but when static it would display weather.
