Want to replace the external stuff?

Post by WetAndWindy »

Hi All, I have the Maplin kit with the WH1081 logger purchased around 5 years ago, probably longer! I have a problem with periodic 'lost sensor contact' errors and want to replace the external gear which is certainly showing signs of wear.

Can anyone advise what I can buy that will work with the WH1081 please, is there anything on the net or do I have to go back to Maplin?

Any advice appreciated.
Many thanks.

Hi,

Beware that a replacement/new transmitter will very probably NOT work with the "old" Console (because the wireless protocol was changed a few years ago).

If you're generally happy with the FO kit, then it's probably best to buy a complete new station from Maplin (when it's "On Offer") or one of the other reputable suppliers of these "badged" units. However, the "Lost Contacts" won't necessarily be any better and you may even suffer the new "USB Lockup" issue. Then change the parts which are "showing signs of wear" and keep the others as spares (which you may well need).

Cheers, Alan.
