Dear Steve

we all know that cumulus is not compatible with lacrosse connected + USB port.
but i am using cumulus long time ago, and now i changed my desktop to a laptop with no serial port i there any way to adjust cumulus reading even if my ws2300 is connected by usb?????

It's unlikely that you'll get any meaningful data, but some people do. It seems to depend on what type of serial/USB adapter you use, some are better than others.

G'day,
Just a first post but I thought I should chime in saying I use a La Crosse WS2305 via USB connection and have had no problem in the two months since I have had it. I used the adaptor which came with the station and the usb driver which came with the adaptor.

It does seem to be something of a lottery. It's good to know (from my point of view) that some people have better experiences than others, because that tends to confirm that the problem isn't in Cumulus.
