You need to change the XXXX to the METAR station ID you want to use in bt-sager-cu.php on Line 14.

BT, saw your message earlier in the day but could not check it until now. I had edited the downloaded file for the local METAR last night but looks like in my haste I had already copied the bt-sager-cu.php to my Cumulus\web folder before I edited it - it was late and after my bedtime :bash: . I just now updated the file and soon got
Sager 12-24 Hour Forecast: Snow or showers followed by improvement early in period (within 6 hours); No important change. Some tendency for slight increase in winds during day, diminishing in evening. Southwest or West winds.
the local EC forecast is
Tonight
Cloudy with 60 percent chance of flurries this evening then partly cloudy. Wind southwest 30 km/h gusting to 50 becoming light late this evening. Low minus 8.
Thursday
Cloudy. Periods of light snow beginning near noon. Amount 2 cm. Wind becoming south 30 km/h gusting to 50 in the morning. High minus 4.
and my Davis says
Davis Station Forecast: Partly cloudy and cooler.
Good job,
Paul

I'd rate this software in the top five addon's for Cumulus.

In my eye's the order would be something like this.
  • 1) Steel Series gauges, tied with Weather by You templates.
    2) Saratonga WU forecasts.
    3) BT's sager forecaster.
    4) Saratonga Templates.
    5) iCumulus for the aye fone.
I'm sure other may rate them differently as they, for instance, others may use the Saratonga templates and rate them higher.

Well done to everyone for creating these apps listed and the others not listed too.
Though of course none of it would be possible without Steve and the wonderful Cumulus software, so a special shoutout to him also!

Bt's Forecast 1 - Environment Canada Forecast 0
As mentioned in a previous post EC was forecasting snow (2cm) for Jan.15 No mention of snow in BT's forecast.
Guess what? No snow within about a 50 km radius. Both are currently -Jan 16 11:00 EST forecasting snow later this evening. UPDATE @ 12:00 BT's forecast removed snow, EC changed to 40 percent flurries.

I just changed from the JS version to the cURL. All seems good.

Sager:
Fair and warmer; No important change. Some tendency for slight increase in winds during day, diminishing in evening. Northwest or West winds.

BOM:
Clear. Winds northeasterly 15 to 20 km/h becoming light in the late evening.

Station:
Rainy

I wanted to thank you all for the kind words and praise. It means a lot.

I think this current version, 2014-01-14, is pretty close to final. I still have a couple of ideas and suggested improvements to try. It will be awhile before another update appears as I am busy in my personal life.

I would HIGHLY SUGGEST all of you running previous versions update to the current 2014-01-14 version:

https://cumulus.hosiene.co.uk/viewtopic.p ... 348#p81348

You can see what version you are running either clicking on the forecast on your webpage or by going to you URL and putting /bt-sager.php at the end of it.

BTJ,

I reckon you might want to make this part clearer. As in which file needs the change, ie the one on the webserver or the file in the cumulus folder ;)
Weather by You Templates

Open bt-sager-wc.php with Notepad++. Scroll down to the very bottom of the file. Add // to the front of Line 6144 so it looks like this:

Code:
// echo "document.write ('$sf');";// This allows displaying the forecast on a HTML webpage. Add // to the front of this line if using a PHP webpage.

You normally edit a file locally before uploading it, but thanks for pointing that out.

Yeah, it had me scratching my head head for a moment. But I'm not the sharpest tool in the shed ;)
BTW, you have a PM.

Your web host is blocking it.

Thanks for your help on this. I have changed to Linux based hosting with curl enabled and all works well.

Hi BT

I downloaded the php version a few days ago and it has been working well. I moved to 14-01 version today and all is good.

Many thanks for all your work on this.

Welcome aboard! Some of you guys in the UK may be getting wind predictions which are too high. If this happens constantly, open bt-sager-cu.php and read Line 16 then possibly enter an offset on Line 17.
