Has anyone noticed any slight problem with the wind speed and gust elements of the banner ?

Today I have my wind speed at 14knots, yet the Gust is showing alot lower. Surely the Gust should always be higher than the actual wind speed unless it happens at the same time. Is this a Cumulus problem or a banner problem ?

I just looked at the output from your banner.php and your realtime.txt at the same time, and your banner was still using item 7, not item 41. So I think either you didn't change the file correctly or you forgot to upload the new version. Or, um, something else :)

Mine says:

Version: 3.0 - October 19th, 2008

But as I said, I've modified mine so it uses the 10-minute high gust (which clearly wasn't available at the time the script was written).

Change line 95 to:

Code:
"cversion","cbuild","recentmaxgust");

Change line 269 to:

Code:
$text = "Gust: " . ret_value("recentmaxgust") . ret_value("windunit");

"This is what I have changed on the banner.php - nothing else" - do I have alter something else?

Please feel free to move this to the other thread if required.

If you've changed those two lines and uploaded the new banner.php to the correct place on the server, then I don't know why it isn't working :(

I know now - its called being thick and not following instructions. I had succesfully changed it,but then upload the old version every time, so I coulndt understand why it wasnt changing, hopefully sorted. You may see a few different words appearing, its just me making sure I can get it correct.

Now if I was to ADD Max gust of the day - is this a possibility ? - I see a few others have got Max/Min Temps in aswell

I assume it's possible to add anything that is in the realtime.txt file, but I haven't actually tried myself.

Is it the free geocities service you're using? I don't think that allows PHP :(

I think you have the same problem - I could be wrong, but the Blueyonder personal web space doesn't seem to support PHP.
