Help creating a website
Hello,
I have bought a new weather station WH 1081 and i have set it up succesfully and is already storing data on the system.
For 4 hours i tried yesterday to upload via FTP my data onto my different websites that accept FTP upload with Filezilla .
No luck!! after i put all the files on the correct folder and double check several times all my FTP details, host, username, password. THen do a website test from cumulus and gave me an error saying something that FTP was already conected. I was very frustated and disperate.. Finally at least iam watching my weather data on Weather Underground. But i would love to have my own site the default one that cumulus offer.
Could anyone create for me a website to host my weather station data? I know its been done in the past.. even if i have to do a donation.
Please help i would love to enjoy my own space on the web and watch my weather data.
Looking forward for your answers
Regards
Raul

You may have entered your details incorrectly, or in an invalid format. Turn on ftp logging and wait until a update has been attempted. The attach the ftplog.txt file here, along with a screen shot of your internet settings in Cumulus.

Re: Help creating a website
Hi Steve could you tell me what exact files of the cumulus software you have to update on htdocs folder of my provider.. its a bit confusing as appear to be in cumulus a web folder and a webfiles folder. Do i need to create a new folder inside my htdocs or just put this 'web' and 'webfiles' folders as they are on the htdocs folder?steve wrote:Connect error 530 is usually incorrect user or password.
I hope i made clear myself.. hehe
Thank you again

Re: Help creating a website
The wiki explains this: http://wiki.sandaysoft.com/a/Simple_Website_setup
You put the entire contents of the webfiles folder onto your web site. Either into your web space 'root' (htdocs in your case) or into a subfolder that you create, if you don't want the Cumulus pages to be the root of your web space, i.e. the difference between the Cumulus index page being at http://www.yourwebsite.com/ or http://www.yourwebsite.com/weather/ (or whatever).

Re: Help creating a website
Thank you for your answer again. On the version Cumulus 1.9.2 appear to be 2 folders one is called Web and the other one Webfiles.. so do i transfer only the Webfiles to htdocs as it is via Filezilla and then should work?steve wrote:The wiki explains this: http://wiki.sandaysoft.com/a/Simple_Website_setup

Also i have notice it says this on the wiki helpsteve wrote:The wiki explains this: http://wiki.sandaysoft.com/a/Simple_Website_setup

You do not see your Cumulus Site but another site, an error message or a blank
Check you are uploading to the correct folder/directory on your webspace. There is a good chance you have mis-typed the details in the Internet Configuration section above.
Via your FTP tool ensure that your website has an index.htm file. It should NOT have index.html, default.html, default.htm, index.php, default.php This should be removed if necessary
Well on my htdocs folder i have a file called index.html should i delete it then? but then i dont have a index.htm file.. do i need to create one?

Re: Help creating a website
It looks like you actually put those in a folder called 'weather', so your Cumulus site will be at http://alonsoweather.gofreeserve.com/weather/.
You now need to configure your details in Cumulus. For directory, you'll probably need to put htdocs/weather
