Alternative Monthly Extremes using <#webtag>s
Posted: Mon 07 May 2012 10:14 pm
The beteljuice has been playing as usual.
Herewith an alternative Monthly Extremes page (Template) using <#webtag>s.
Requires Cumulus V1.9.3 or above OR Cumulus MX
This example won't update and is for illustrative purposes only:
Alternative Example
SEE LOWER DOWN FOR NEW Neil Thomas template version
You can set the 'default' view.
You can give the visitor the option of views (or not).
Although it's full of JavaScript, it is JS 'safe'. If a visitor has JS disabled then they see the 'normal' (list) style for EVERY month (the nav buttons should then scroll up / down to the required month).
Edit: Zip files contain BOTH v1.9.4 AND MX versions - use the right one for you !
Template file only needs to be processed / uploaded once every 24hr. - rename to suit yourself.
Edit: Mar 2021 - MX versions ONLY, incorrect hours:mins format bug fix.
ALL versions - jQuery newer ver 'called', and future js bug fix.
Editing / language changes:
There are a LOT of things that require a very good knowledge of find and replace techniques.
If you change ANYTHING with a time format in it I recommend changing one at a time and testing !!!
If anyone does a non-english version could they please post it for others ?
(My eternal thanks to Steve for helping me in some nasty debugging - and to paulmy with the MX version )
New mx 10.3 template version ONLY
The beteljuice is slowly trying out his playthings in the 'new' Neil Thomas templates ...
This one is a rewrite to use the weatherdata.json file instead of having to be processed / uploaded by Cumulus.
Part of the README.txt file ...
zip file contents:-
alt_monthlyrecord.htm
css/alt_mon.css
js/alt_monthlyrecdata.js
this README.txt
Upload the files to your website.
Menu:
There are two ways you can handle this:
1/ (NOT recommended) back-up your existing monthlyrecord.htm and rename alt_monthlyrecord.htm to monthlyrecord.htm.
2/ (Prefered) Copy and BACK_UP YOUR EXISTING js/ menu(type).js
Edit the filename in the (new) js/ menu file
That's it ...
Easter Egg ...
(You'll have to download the file to find out )
