I've been thinking about the is realtime option. What I propose to do is: If the 'realtime' box is not selected, then Cumulus will generate the realtime.txt file at the start of the 'normal upload' sequence, but not do anything with it. This will allow you to specify it as an extra file. If 'realtime' is selected it will continue to do what it does now.

This will be a very small simple change, and I think will serve your purpose and probably also be useful for other people who want the functionality of the realtime.txt file but don't need it uploading so frequently.

yes, that could work... but why not just include realtime.txt as a default rider on the normal upload package when "include standard files" is selected?

I'd have to write more code for that, and there would be problems if there was a clash between the 'real' realtime upload and the ordinary upload.

I want to try to stop adding things to this version of Cumulus and get back to Cumulus 2, and this seemed like a good way of adding a bit of extra functionality with one line of code, at low risk.

understand...the "quick "fix" you proposed would serve the purpose very well. lex
