New to MXcumulus website

Post by brookr »

Hi
I have now signed up with Host Presto on recommendation by a member on the Forum.
However, I'm still very much in the dark on how to proceed. I'm looking at internet settings in the cumulus MX program, as below:- Could someone please help me to fill in the blanks.
or what I should be looking at to go in the relevant sections. Host Presto has supplied a list that may be helpful, but I'm not 100% sure what goes where.
Thanks for your assistance.

I do not use hostpresto but it would see obvious that you need to ask them to provide you with information on how to upload data to your domain.

Host name: what is the Doamin name called or if u host locally the ip address of your local ftp server.
Remote FTP Directory: this is a directory structure that gets you too the public-html folder where your root web folder is. (again ask your hosting provider.)
Username: see below
Password: see below
Webcam URL: do you even have a webcam? no? then leave it alone.

see here: https://hostpresto.com/help/hosting/upl ... using-ftp/

instead of using the recommended FileZilla as show in the above link, you are using CumulusMX.

more info on hostpresto can be got here: https://hostpresto.com/help/hosting/get ... g-started/
4) Uploading your site via FTP
If you're uploading your site manually by FTP, the details are as follows. Please ensure you upload into your files public_html folder, otherwise your website won't work.

Remote Server / FTP Address: This can be the server IP address, or your domain name (if your domain is already active)
Username: Your cPanel/FTP username as mentioned in your New Account Information email
Password: Your cPanel/FTP password as mentioned in your New Account Information email
Remote Folder / Path: public_html/
again, you have an email from heypresto with the information you require. please read it.

we can only help so much, you really need to read and digest the information you are being given from this forum, and your hosting provider. otherwise we are researching everything for you when you could have done it yourself with a bit of googling searching heypresto.

no worries, if you get stuck, then try filezilla as a test to see if you can access your website using ftp, then apply the username/password/settings etc to cumulusmx.
