Wunderground API reading and display in SteelSeries Gauges

Post by slawek1614 »

Hello :) Probably most of you know SteelSeries Gauges clocks and my question is: Has anyone tried to read data from the Wunderground API and display it on these clocks?

If someone knows something or uses such a solution, I would ask for help.

Seems a rather roundabout way of doing it, why don't you want to do it it direct from realtimegauges.txt uploaded to your website by CumulusMX running from your WH1080?

What David says.

If you really want to, you have to read the WU data and place it in the realtimegauges file which is basically the interface to the gauges.js
If you do not want that, you will have to write your own javascript procedure to interface with the steelseries.
Can be done, but we're all pretty happy Mark did that about 10 years ago ;)
If you can't resist, you probably better take his work as a starting point in some way.

[and I am an experienced gauges hacker]

What "water01" said.......

I'm no programmer just a self taught hack. Gauges.js gets the value from "realtimeguages.txt" file. I haven't the foggiest clue how to do it but it seems to me if you modified guages.js to read the json WU data instead of the realtimeguages.txt would work, but it would be a lot of work. Mark's adaption is too easy to pass up. :bash:
