and my not-updated Win 8.
Not directly related to Hans' cumulusutils, but I did install all the Windows 8 updates and that went pretty good. All my little weather programs still working :clap:

Enjoy,
Paul

Thank you very much for the quick help Hans :D

I had interpreted (wrong) that the date format of the entire dayfile.txt was not accepted.

Now I have installed the new version 0.9.1 that has worked perfectly:

http://kocher.es/fwi-hans.php

I think the presentation of the data is very beautiful :clap:

You're welcome and thanks for the link. Will this be your definitive address and page? There is no menu around or whatever. Is it going to be a page in your site? If I take it up in the list, it must be a recognisable page (part of a site).

I think so too. No doubt Beteljuice will read and appreciate ;)

Presentation-wise the beteljuice took a long time to do very little (Bl**dy M$).

All the hard work has been done by Hans, not only the original code, but having to write code, that writes code, that writes html .... Plenty of places to fall over :)

@Kocher and anyone else who may want to tinker ...

There is limited scope to be able to change a few things.
Just add a <style> ... </style> AFTER the fwi 'include' in your page.
eg. Big and Bold 'Key'

Code: Select all

<style>
#fwi_content .fwi_key {
	font-size: 16px;
	font-weight: bold;
}
</style>

Am I about to cost you some hair???

As Mentioned your Demo page, http://www.beteljuice.co.uk/DEMOS/fwi.html
works fine for in in IE, Edge & Chrome,

But my 0.91 page, http://weather.inverellit.com/fwi.php
is only working correctly in Edge & Chrome, not IE.

LOL,
Something actually working in Edge over IE for once.

This page is an 'inject' from Hans site.

If your gradient doesn't look like this, then it hasn't been 'released' yet.

Edit: At this moment says " Version 0.9.2 "

Unless the fire graphics are an option, Hans has gone back to the word 'Extreme'.

Edit #2 I have some code to put the flames back if required ;)
Edit #3 I see from later posts that is currently an ini 'option' - so not required unless things change !

@beteljuice you're kind of polluting meteorology with presentation :lol: , but while you're at it, could you check why piotrs site can't do the beteljuice format? http://www.pogoda-niesiolowice.kaszuby. ... isknew.php

@Hans .. Re. Piotrs page ....

It says it's version 9.1 and the data is upto date, but I can't find his pwsFWI.txt.

Is there an option somewhere for the way the page looks ?

Hi,
14 days ago Hans wrote its first post about "cumulusutils". I have been using it since very begining and now it's time for me to say Congratulation to Hans for an excellent application.
For me its the great replacement of the "FWI-calc" I have been using for couple of years. The only I regret is that I can't compare the results of both those applications.
And very important is that Hans is still working on an application to make it better and better.
Piotr

Hi Betel,
He claims:
There is only one problem. I can't use "Beteljuice format". After changing "Stanard" to "Beteljuice" in "cumulusutils.ini" file and running application
pwsFWI.txt file becomes half smaler than it was before (when 365 days is setup).
After processing it with "Cumulus" the pwsFWI.txttmp" (and so pwsFWI.php) file contains nothing. Attached you can find "cumulusutils.log" file created in such situation.
So I analysed all his files and to me they are OK. In my view it may be something very simple and have nothing to do with your format. I asked him to join here for easier support removing me as in between and invited him to set up for the beteljuice format again (even if there would be no output).
Let's see what comes out of this.
Hans

[Edit:] and while making this message he joined for a compliment. Thanks Piotr for the compliment, appreciate it, and while you're at it, could we try to fix your betelformat?

I have a little question.

Reading the installation and configuration instructions provided by Hans, we speak of an "analysis mode" for pwsFWI:

There exists an Analysis mode. If in cumulusutils.ini the value of Analysis is set to a number (> 30) you will find that number of days in your HTML table. So if it is 365, you will find a full year of data on the pwsFWI page. If the number is larger than the number of records you have, all records are shown. If the number is smaller than 30, it will always show 30 records (minimum) to give pwsFWI the context you need.

I would like to know how to activate this mode in the "cumulusutils.ini"

Simply by setting the number for the ini-parameter Analysis (is in the ini-file already, default value is 30) larger than 30. Note that it also creates an pwsFWIanalysis.csv file with all data in it. If you have any research results by yourself, please share with me or here on the forum.
