IP camera software
I want to use some free software to take a snapshot from an IP camera on a local network every 1/2 hour so I can stitch them together to produce a time lapse video.
Any suggestions for some reliable software please?

Re: IP camera software
I've got some shell scripts that do precisely that (for the CCTV in my wife's shop). I can send you those if you like?

Re: IP camera software
Thanks for the offer, but I should have been more specific that I need them for a Windows network.
Although would they run on a NAS?

Re: IP camera software
If the NAS is Linux-based then yes. There are some dependencies though. I will look in the morning and let you know. If your NAS is Linux-based could you also let me know which distro it is running?

Re: IP camera software
Not at all sure that this NAS can be accessed via a command line. Buffalo Terrastation TS5200D is the model.

Re: IP camera software
The Buffalo Terrastation TS5200D is a very locked-down piece of kit - you have to install different firmware to even access it using Telnet, and I guess you don't want to be doing that.
The dependency that my script uses is ffmpeg, which is "free" and is available for Windows. I can PM you the script if you wish to make a Windows batch script or Power Shell script?

Done! Note that there is also a dependency on wget in the image acquisition script, but I'm not sure whether you need that script or not.

Re: IP camera software
Have a look at ISPY, free software I used to use to take images every 2 minutes and upload to my site. https://www.ispyconnect.com/download.aspx
I now use IPTIMELAPSE, which you need to pay for however it takes the images and automatically creates the timelapse video everyday.. https://iptimelapse.com/

Re: IP camera software
I use my NAS as a webserver and it also grabs the snapshot image from my WebCam and adds the layers/weather data to it all via a bash script.
