Afternoon all,
Wilmslow made the fab flat dashboard - http://weather.wilmslowastro.com/test/d ... hboard.htm
With kind permission I have modified it to change the style and include most of the data tags in a dashboard, the data updates every 3 secs. It is made for both aspects of the page to display full screen on an ipad in landscape and complete full screen in portrait.
http://www.casa.ucl.ac.uk/cumulus/dashboard.htm
Anyone is of course free to mod/add as needs be.
Two questions -
1) Everything works apart from rmonth and ryear, i cant work out why...
2) if i want to fork the page to just display the date table and lose the charts, what do i need to do? If i edit out the divs then the whole page breaks.
Thanks as ever to Wilmslow...
Andy

Re: Modified Flat Dashboard
Hi,
Hope its ok to ask this - I have just revisited the flat dashboard now i am running MX - i have changed the pointer to the new realtime.txt file but now nothing loads and thought i would see if its an obvious fix rather than diving in and breaking things further...
http://www.casa.ucl.ac.uk/cumulus/dashboard1.htm
Any quick thoughts would be great if possible - it seems to get realtime.txt but at 0k and i cant work out why as the file is there - is it a change of webtags at all?

Re: Modified Flat Dashboard
It's always a good idea when diagnosing web site problems like this to look at the F12 browser console:
XMLHttpRequest cannot load http://weather.casa.ucl.ac.uk/realtime. ... 1186040843. No 'Access-Control-Allow-Origin' header is present on the requested resource. Origin 'http://www.casa.ucl.ac.uk' is therefore not allowed access.
weather.casa.ucl.ac.uk is not the same as www.casa.ucl.ac.uk, so the file is blocked. See https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/XMLHttpRe ... n_requests, for example.

Re: Modified Flat Dashboard
Fine. It looks good. However, it has the same problem as the original. The word Direction is cut off at the bottom and, if I run other than maximized, the formatting is all to shot i.e. it doesn't fully reduce to fit.
(Frankly, I'd rather it stay original size and enable scrolling.)

Re: Modified Flat Dashboard
There are still a few issues with scaling - but i kind of like the way it integrates into the whole site and provides an alternative to the (also good) steelseries - its now linked up via the gauges link:
http://weather.casa.ucl.ac.uk/
Works well on an ipad/HDTV and pc/mac as long as you dont resize mid viewing - i also like the way the dials tween so a huge thanks to http://weather.wilmslowastro.com/ and of course Steve for the software driving it....
