“It's snowing still," said Eeyore gloomily.
"So it is."
"And freezing."
"Is it?"
"Yes," said Eeyore. "However," he said, brightening up a little, "we haven't had an earthquake lately.”

Thanks, I'd loved the original hint.fm rendering, but it only had data for north America. When Cameron produced this I had to use it. It uses a combination of svg for the globe and land outlines with an overlain HTML5 canvas for the wind streamers.

Looking at joes page just now I see it is also fully touch enabled for mobile devices. It runs fine on my Nexus 4, but this old HP touch pad is a bit slow.

If anyone is making a 'duplicate' of my page, please note that I have a bit of code at the end of it that links to my Cumulus Top Sites account. You will want to remove that!

My top site count seems to have increased rather a lot over the last few days!

Maybe it's just me and IE9 Mark, but when I open the page it just sits there saying "Downloading..."?

It did for me just now, but loaded eventually after a minute. I think their servers may be a bit overloaded, the site has been getting loads of publicity lately, even national newspapers have been promoting it in the UK. The site requires IE9 or later so you should be OK.

I think you meant data for the U.S. It is the smaller country south of Canada  Thanks to making us aware of Cameron Beccario's great work. It is fascinating!

Ah, thanks for putting me right, from memory I thought it did include Canada, but you're right, my memory failed me, it was just continental USA.

Thanks for the info Mark. I have added a page to my site with both 1000hPa and 250hPa maps and included a wind velocity scale below each map.
http://www.fordingbridgeweather.co.uk/windmap.php

I have attached the Velocity Scale if anyone would like to use it.

Nice addition to the Wind Maps page! I will be redoing my page in the near feature and incorporating the scale into my page.

Thanks,
