That should work.

As a side, the test for the realtime.txt on the wiki troubleshooting section really helped me figure out what I did wrong. A simple but effective test.

Thanks for everyone's help.

Steve,

Are you planning a verison of the Silverlight realtime gauges that doesn't chew up memory? My guess is that the data for the wind graph is being stored in active memory which just continues to grow. Is it possible that this memory addressing be cyclic in nature ie only the last hour of data being displayed and so limit the memory overhead? Or a version which doesn't include the wind graphic and only display the current data?

I like the look of it, it's great, would like to leave it running as a remote view of my weather station, but the consumption of memory prevents that.

Regards

Dave

I'm using mcrossley's gauges at the moment and have been very satisfied with the display.

There has been some mods but all credit goes to Mark.

This is where I downloaded Mark's files.

Read the rest of the thread.

Very happy Indeed!

Edit: Steve, you did say "I think your gauges should become the default.." :)

Hi Mike

You have not modified the config file (CumulusRealtime.xml) on your server....

http://www.waterfordcityweather.com/CumulusRealtime.xml

You can see it still shows the default settings

See the installation details here ...http://wiki.sandaysoft.com/a/CumulusRealtime

Your <realtimeURL> should be http://www.waterfordcityweather.com/realtime.txt
You should also change <sitename>

The file on the server is still wrong -- so either it has not uploaded, or you have it in the wrong place
You do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post.

Where exactly should i be putting that file? At the moment i am putting it into a Cumulus Realtime folder that i created on my server. i'm guessing this is the wrong place.

Edit, Got it working David

Yes, it should in the the same folder, however the URL you gave as an example does not show a foldername

You said ... http://www.waterfordcityweather.com/Cum ... ltime.html

Have you maybe installed it in two places?

So if you created a folder called 'cumulusrealtime', then your URL would be

http://www.waterfordcityweather.com/cum ... ltime.html

the XML file should also be in the folder (at the moment, it all seems to be in the root of your webserver)

Cheers David, got it working. Want to complement you and the developers of Cumulus for an amazing software package that i have been running since October with no problems.

Have a look at Google Analytics (just Google it), it's free and easy to get working. It'll give you much more useful info than a hit-counter.

As Paul says, Google Analytics is very good -- you sign up and then add a little bit of code to the bottom of the HTML page(s) you wish tracked.

My only criticism of GA is that it updates once per day so you do not see live stats (i.e. today)

Thanks Guys

Have a google analytics account already for my main website, i guess its just a matter of adding the Cumulus Realtime page to that and it would do the trick.
