Automatic data upload to UK Met Office WOW
I have registered with the UK Met Office/Royal Met Society WOW (http://wow.metoffice.gov.uk/) and it ought to be possible to automatically upload data files from Cumulus. Cumulus is listed as one of the compatible software apps which can do that task. As a first sort of test I asked for an automatic upload and then following the instructions browsed to my Data folder trying both alltimelog and dayfile txt files. Neither would upload and triggered an error message. I have been using Cumulus for barely one week and so I am not yet familier with the wrinkles. What need I do to create a format that will upload to WOW?

Re: Automatic data upload to UK Met Office WOW
You need to put your WOW details into the box on the Cumulus internet settings screen.

Still throwing up same error message. Is this Internet Setup entry as you would expect for WOW uploading?

Are you sure you have your site ID correct? I can't get WOW to give me your site details:

or your latest observations page:

Re: Automatic data upload to UK Met Office WOW
I only registered it this afternoon and their servers were really creaking taking ages to load pages. So it may be that completion of registration takes a few hours. I can access the site myself however so can't understand why you cannot.
Tried this morning and site is now taking my data OK - thanks!

Re: Automatic data upload to UK Met Office WOW
Hi,
I have set up my station information & submitted it to the WOW site. I now need to direct Cumulus to upload the information to WOW. I have used the search info. in Cumulus & see that I have to add my pin & site number to the WOW section in Configuration. The problem is that I can't find the WOW box to add the information! I run Cumulus 1.9.2 build 1024 .
Can anyone help please?
Cheers
Chris

Re: Automatic data upload to UK Met Office WOW
The version of Cumulus you're using is very old and now superseded and unsupported, but I'm pretty sure it had WOW support. The settings will be on the Internet Settings screen as shown above, but possibly not exactly in that position on the screen.

It used to be on earlier versions but I can't find it on this. Guess I had better do an upgrade.
Thanks Steve.

Sorry, mental aberration! Was looking in Files instead of Sites/Options. Done.
Thanks,

Re: Automatic data upload to UK Met Office WOW
Any feedback on this service?
Created a site a few hours ago, but not seeing any updates yet.
Some of the terms seem different to what I've seen described, like:-
Site ID; I see User ID on their page; 4fb250a3-6087-e611-9401-0003ff59aed0
And I don't see Pin; I see "Authentication Key" under site detail, and I've entered a 6 digit pin.
Thanks
Phil.

Re: Automatic data upload to UK Met Office WOW
Ok,
I see I have User ID & Site Id confused & have corrected that, but I still don't see where I setup a "Site Pin",
the only thing seemingly related is the Authentication Key.
Phil.

Phil,
I've just checked my site setup page and I also have an Authentication Key field, not a PIN. I suggest you use the Feedback link at the bottom of the page for assistance.

I can't easily check right now but I think that authentication key and pin are the same thing.
