Hello, my rain fall monitor on my wh1080 has stopped working, I have took it apart to see if it was blocked or a cob Web was stopping the readings but all seems to be fine. The temperature wind and direction are working are working fine any ideas what is going wrong?

You could easily check the sensor assembly at the plug, putting an ohmmeter across the two leads and rocking the buckets to see if the switch is closing and opening. That's where I would start in isolating the problem.

If you don't have an ohmmeter and the knowledge on how to use it, sorry I'm no help.

Good luck.

I have the exact same problem with my Maplin N96GY (WH1080). Everything had been working OK for 1 year, and then yesterday the rain gauge stopped working completely. The rain gauge itself is functioning OK, and I even tested everything with a replacement rain gauge. I reset the transmitter and base unit several times - still no rain count.

I am suspecting a transmitter fault, even though the wind direction and speed are being transmitted OK.

Does anyone know where to buy a replacement transmitter from? Maplin has none in stock at the moment.

Many thanks.

Don't rule out the fact it could be as simple as a flaky phone jack on the transmitter. Those connectors sometimes get damaged if the plug might have been installed incorrectly.

Good luck.
