Interactive Map

My weather station seems to have disappeared from the interactive map. Any ideas?

Cheers,
Chris

When did it disappear? There was a problem quite some time ago where lost of entries were accidentally deleted. I spent a long time putting back as many as I could, but I didn't have a full backup. The best thing to do would be just to resubmit it.

Hi Chris...I have noticed that from time to time I disappear from the map only to re-appear later. At the moment I'm missing, and this has been going on for at least a month, along with a few others in the NW of England. I think you are the first point the issue out. There is a gentleman that kindly volunteers to monitor and update the map.

Regards Kevin

I'm not sure I've been deleted because I do always re-appear!

I'm processing the map submissions these days. Your station is in the database and appears on the list on the map page, but not on the map, for some reason:

If you click on the map link from your entry, it does appear:

I'm afraid I have no idea what the problem is; perhaps the map code or Google is struggling to cope with the number of entries.

I found the problem; it was an issue with the encoding of some of the names in the xml file. I've corrected the errors and everyone who is in the database should now be on the map. If you're not in the database, please resubmit your entry.

Still not there for me - will re-submit. Of interest, Skegness now seems to be in the middle of The Wash!

Skeggy looks OK to me too. It's the centre of the marker that marks the spot, not the dangly bit.

I think that I fixed the character encoding problems in the wrong place; the XML file has been recreated because I've added more entries. I'll have another go tomorrow.
