Setting wind direction resolution

I recently got a WH3080 weather station that I started to use together with Cumulus.
Everything works great but I just can not figure out how to set the software for showing wind direction with a 1° resolution instead of the presetted 12.5°.
Note I'm still running it on my PC.
Thank you folks.

Fine Offset stations only have a resolution of 12.5 degrees for wind direction (they supply one of 16 compass points).

Thanks for your response, Steve.
I made that question as I see many WH3080s on the internet being able to provide this kind of resolution.
Google "WH3080 cumulus" to look for some of them.

You're probably looking at average wind direction, as calculated by Cumulus, rather than the 'current' direction supplied by the station. The average bearing is calculated to the nearest degree.

Yeah, I was afraid it was quite weird as indeed it is not cleary specified. It is called simply "Wind direction" so I was wondering if there was any "hidden" setting in the software that enhances the wind readings from the weather station.
Problem solved, thank you very much! ;)

Hi Steve,

Don't you mean 22.5° ? (360/16)

Regards,

Yes, I do; thanks. I just repeated the OP's figure without thinking about it.

Yes,of course I meant 22.5°, that was my mistake :)

Even 16 compass points is pushing it on a Fine Offset, as the wind direction device only has 8 reed switches - getting a hit on the intermediate positions depends on the magnet activating 2 switches similtaneously, which happens infrequently and inconsistently, thanks to wide manufacturing tolerances. Fortunately Cumulus averages out trends from the hodge podge of compass points received (largely due to 'windmilling') to give a pretty good indication of true direction.
