just had one delivered today but cannot get the receiver to learn it! - tried all different battery combinations but no luck the old transmitter showed signs of water damage so assumed it was faulty but maybe the receiver was the problem

also just noticed maplin have a restock fee of £10 so I cant send it back either oops.

wish I had bought the complete unit when it was reduced a few weeks ago

Hi,

When did you purchase the original Maplin Kit/Console? It appears that at some time (perhaps a year ago) Fine Offset changed the Wireless Protocol (this is NOT the same as the carrier frequency) used by the Maplin kits.

If this can be confirmed (I wonder if even Maplin know) then you should be able to return the unit (under the sale of goods act) as "not fit for purpose".

Cheers, Alan.

Hmm interesting.

I was going to buy one as a spare, but would definitely need to know if it would work
ok with my 2 year old N96FY.

I wonder how we can tell :| ?
