Hello, I am new, my first name is Johann and I live in the southwest of France.
First of all, Cumulus is really a software very good , it is of the very good work bravo.
I have small one concerns(marigolds) with the calibration of the temperature, it influences well this one but not the windchill and the heat index. Of the blow I have the windwill superior to the temperature.(if no wind)
Here is I hope that I was understood.
Johann.

Re: Calibration température
Yes, you're right.
I am very very close now to removing the calibration facility.
I will try to fix this, but it's going to be difficult.

Re: Calibration température
My heat index calculation uses the calibrated temperature and humidity values, so should be OK. Are you sure it's wrong?

Re: Calibration température
Yes I believe, here is what that gives:
Current data for Caylus (355m)
vendredi 7 novembre 2008 13:30:46
Temperature (°C):
Current 11,1
Trend (per hour) -1,3
Average today 7,4
Wind chill 11,9
Dew Point 8,9
heat index: 12.3
Rel Humidity 90%
the température of the station is 12.3
Wind (km/h):
Current Gust 17,7 SW
Average Speed 7,3 SW

Re: Calibration température
Yes, sorry, I can't read my own code. I should be able to fix this one quite easily. The wind chill is another matter...

Re: Calibration température
Steve, as I said in the other thread - are you serious about removing calibration? There must be several of us in the "keen amateur" bracket who aren't able, for whatever reason, to get a good siting for wind and possibly temperature, and many raingauges are inherently innaccurate. I have calibrated mine against a standard rain gauge and with the calibration factor am now getting excellent correlation. I can't see the point of using a PC and hence Cumulus if the data is badly innaccurate, especially if being widely viewed on the web. I would also add that everything seems to be running great now so I wondered if at some point, if the majority were of the same view, that you might want to consider a moratorium on fixing small bugs and give yourself a "debug and build" holiday!
Cheers, Dave C

No Dave, not serious - it just gets a bit frustrating at times
