I feel a bit stupid asking but is there some "technique" required to replace the batteries in the transmitter?
I just changed mine and now I don't get anything. Initially the red LED just stopped on all the time so I took out the batteries and put them again but now not a squeak.
Have I done something wrong or is it b******d?
Thanks
Mark

Brought transmitter inside to see if it was distance related, also as it's a bit lighter to see by. No joy, just taken it back out and plugged cables back in, the red LED came on and remains on, but no sign of data transmission....
I just got off the phone to Maplins who I got it from and apparently it appears I have to return the whole unit. One final question before I do that, although it really makes no odds as I've tried both ways - do the cables need to be plugged into the transmiitter for it to work, or should it just be sending it's presence as soon as the batteries go in?

Re: Batteries in transmitter
Mark, I don't think the cables being plugged in will make any difference.
I'm wondering if you inadvertently put the batteries in the wrong way round; that could cause damage.
If not I guess the transmitter unit has just failed.
It is a pain to have to dismantle the whole lot and return it, but at least you will get a whole new set of instruments by return.
Let us know how you get on.
Mike.

Re: Batteries in transmitter
Mark,
I replaced batteries in the transmitter thinking that was the issue and could not get data to the console.
I reset the actual console by removing the batteries in it momentarily and it worked as soon as I put the batteries back.
Cheers
Daryl

Yes, same here, my Humax Freeview hard drive recorder crashes sometimes and that just needs unplugging for a couple of minutes.Super-T wrote:a bit like my washing machine and freeview decoder.....needs the occasional power down to reset the computer.

Re: Batteries in transmitter
In the instructions it says you need to put the batteries in the transmitter first, and then in the screen.
Not a fault with either piece of kit, as long as the led comes on occassionally, and the screen works fine, then you know it is only in the way you have inserted the batteries.

Or in the case of the 9200 some bug free software, been a continuing problem since it was released.Repairman77 wrote: Yes, same here, my Humax Freeview hard drive recorder crashes sometimes and that just needs unplugging for a couple of minutes.

Re: Batteries in transmitter
Well folks - it was returned today and seems to have been repaired or replaced with a new one, and seems to be working fine again
