480 bug
Hi
Sorry to say, the updating window does not go off for me on XP, I have to close the program.
Gone back to 473 which never had this problem for me.

Re: 480 bug
Fresh install of 480 - from scratch: no Cumulus data, reading all data in device:
Download window opens - no progress bar during download from box
Download window shows progress bar while Cumulus updates all the numbers, ie. when the display shows numbers changing all the time.
Download window closes OK at the end, and Cumulus continues.
(System: Vista)
My view: progress bar during the wrong phase: don't really need when I can see all the numbers change. But would like to see it during the download phase where there's no othe indication of activity.
Will try 482 now...

Re: 480 bug
I can't show a %age progress when downloading, as I don't know how many I will be downloading. I could show some sort of moving indicator, I suppose. I had imagined that the actual download was very quick and didn't need a progress indicator. See how it goes with 482.
Interesting that 480 seemed OK otherwise for you.

Re: 480 bug
Having weird problems with 482 and 480....
Having run several tests, all starting with no data in Cumulus, reading everything from the device.
1. lost data: no data for period 14:30 to 20:00 today.
Build 482. Seen several times.
2. many, many cases of
(the above quote is the last record in the Diags file)
3. Closing Cumulus does not really close Cumulus and make it go away.
It is still listed in Windows' Task Manager window.
And when/if I try to run EasyWeather or restart Cumulus I get a Cumulus error: Access violation
Build 482 and 480, possibly also in 473? (bugreport.txt attached)
Gone back to build 473

Re: 480 bug
Hi Steve - I think I have the same problem as Dane.
Cumulus (1.8.3_482) loaded well after being closed for the night. Downloading window (complete with working progress bar) closed at the end of downloading.
Unfortunately some data seemed to have vanished from around 5:00am but recording ok from switch on.

Re: 480 bug
It looks like the changes I put in to allow the progress bar to update cause input data to be lost I'll have a look at it later today.
Can you confirm that the data is missing from the October data log and not just the graphs?
Edit: And could someone please provide a Diags file for a bad download?

Re: 480 bug
I am only using temp and pressure, but software loaded stored data ok, with no breaks.
And I saw the loading bar work for the first time!

Re: 480 bug
Strange that you don't get the problem. I wonder if the difference is whether you have other USB devices connected?

Re: 480 bug
Steve,
I can confirm that data is missing from not only graphs, but also log.
Attach:
- screen shot - bit of oct08log.txt from 482-run
- Diags: cumulus.001 from 482-run
- Diags: cumulus.002 from successful 473-run

Re: 480 bug
Thanks, Ib, I think I see what the problem is. I'm trying to cater for various conditions on the USB connection and I think I'm just confusing things. I'll have an attempted fix very soon.
