Nightmare ...
Greetings all,
Looks like I've jumped out of the frying pan and into an INFRNO !!!!
Got rid of the old station because it wasalways locking up (fineoffset) ... and I've bought this Brandson 304577 Apart from the tedious and yet unsuccessful connection instructions it uses an app to asign one of the weatherunderground or similar web sites. However, on the positive side there is a section for custom sites.
On the customised site it asks the following questions {which I have no idea about and which I am seeking help with}...
Protocol type same as: Ecowitt or Wunderground
Server IP / Hostname:
Path:
Port:
Upload Interval: (seconds)
It's all abit double dutch so I'm wondering if any kind soul can point ne through the mist??? Thanks

Re: Nightmare ...
You only use that if you have a server that is capable of receiving the data, otherwise you can ignore it.

Re: Nightmare ...
I think what the OP is saying is that with their new station they have no idea how to now connect Cumulus to their new station.
Seems that from looking up the new Brandson station that is happens to be a current model FO clone of the WH2910C.
Some good news and some potential bad news....
It is unclear if the OP was running Cumulus 1 or Cumulus MX. With the new hardware it will be necessary to run Cumulus MX as the Cumulus 1 development has stopped and newer station will not be compatible.
But even with Cumulus MX and a newer station you'll need to ensure that you have the correct hardware components to be able to send data to Cumulus MX. With only the Brandson 304577 (WH2910C clone) you will not be able to get data into Cumulus MX. The good news is that you can for a very affordable price add the GW1000 in order to pickup all the sensors and send the data to Cumulus MX. The GW1000 is available directly from Ecowitt and it is also possible to perhaps ask Brandson if they sell its equivalent clone. Another possibility is the WH2650.
If you need to migrate from Cumulus 1 to Cumulus MX then there are write-ups and help on the forum regarding this.
Bottom line....The Branson 304577 (WH2910C clone) by itself does not have the capability to send data to Cumulus MX. So just buy at GW1000 or WH2650. Order from Ecowitt will require you to know which frequency to order it with; 433, 868, or 915 MHz as you must match the frequency of your current Brandson hardware in order to receive sensor data. According to the Brandson manual it references being 868 MHz....but double check with your equipment. I believe on power up (remove and re-insert batteries also) that you will briefly see on the LCD display 433, 868, or 915 to indicate working frequency.

Re: Nightmare ...
Before I bought this station, I did buy a WH2650 ... trouble was thatn that the base station would not connect to the sensors. I tried for 1 week solid and several different variant of the connection process without success. SO I sent it back!
Mind you, the box had been opened and reseales with the usual misfit of the original packaging, so I suspect that it was faulty, had been returned and then sent out again ! Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

Re: Nightmare ...
The GW1000 and the WH2650 will not work with older Fine Offset clones. That is why it likely didn't work for you.
The GW1000 and WH2650 only support the newer Fine Offset clones... WH65 all-in-one and the older WH24 all-in-one. Of course they also support the new separate components...WS68, WS80, WH40, WH32...etc.
You can see a good matrix of compatible parts here:

That sheds some light in the maze of that type of stations.
Thnx @galfert, and certainly @Gyvate for maintaining that thread!

Thank you! I started the original version of that matrix. It is a lot of work to maintain. I'm thankful for Gyvate having taken it over.HansR wrote: ↑Thu 04 Mar 2021 6:48 amAha, never seen that post before.galfert wrote: ↑Wed 03 Mar 2021 10:36 pm You can see a good matrix of compatible parts here:

Re: Nightmare ...
Can anyone recommend a wiki pages host? I'll likely have more questions.
(respond not to this thread but to the link below)
Sorry to the OP for threadjack. At least the OP issue is resolved so hopefully this isn't terrible.
To be fair let's continue this Product Matrix / Wiki talk in this other thread:
