Support coming in Cumulus 1.7.12

Version 1.7.12 of Cumulus will have support for these weather stations, available badged variously as MyDEL, Nevada, Watson etc with model numbers such as WH1080, WX2008, etc etc. They all use software supplied with them called EasyWeather, but that does not provide web site uploads etc, so Cumulus will 'fill the gap'.

Cumulus will support these stations by 'piggy-backing' off the data file generated by the EasyWeather software.

I hope to have full support (i.e. no need for EasyWeather) in a future release (if Fine Offset get back to me with the protocol details).

Looks OK, but there is a problem reading wind speed, direction and gusts from the EasyWeather dat file. It looks like it might be an offset problem ??? The compass bearing can get up to 6 digits and the wind speed appears to be off by a factor of ten... BTW - I'm using kph as wind speed.

I had to reverse engineer the contents of the easyweather.dat file and try to match it to an export of the data. I thought I'd got them all correct, but maybe not!

Could you please email me (steve@sandaysoft.com) a copy of your easyweather.dat file, and a corresponding export of the data with all the headers?

Can you confirm that you have set the path to the easyweather.dat file correctly, and set the update interval to be the same as you have set in Easyweather?

Hi Steve !
I can appreciate very much your work. I am running EasyWeather 2.0 since march 2008 collecting all the data.
Yesterday I found your website and I downloaded your program. I set it up ok, reading the easyweather.dat file but I It seems like nothing is read.
Everything remains as when installed while new data is added every 30 minutes.
I see that another friend seems to have the same problem but there is no more posts about it.

Daniel,

I think the problem is that Cumulus does not support your regional settings, where a comma is used for a decimal point. This was an oversight of mine from the very beginning - I had forgotten that some countries express decimals that way. It's too difficult to change it now.

The only possibilities I can suggest are either to change your settings so you use a full stop/period for a decimal point, or to wait for Cumulus 2, which won't have this problem. I don't have a date yet for when Cumulus 2 will be available.

Hi Steve !, good morning ! Thank you for your reply ! Do you think this can be the problem ?
I am looking to the easyweather.dat and I only find commas to separate each field of data, but the data has a normal decimal point, Easyweather is set in English as if I were living in UK, or USA.
May be a corrupted file ?
I do not use commas. I use the period as decimal point, all electronics comes from outside of our country so, we adopted the period as decimal point ( for ever ? )
I don´t like to make you work for me. I don´t find Easyweather.dat is using commas for the data string. Easyweather displays data with a period.
Do you want to see my easyweather .dat ?
The record light is blinking green, but still no data in Cumulus.

I´m sorry Steve, I think you are right. The Cumulus screen shows commas ( 0,00 instead of 0.00 ) in all data.

Everything is running really fine.
I only changed my region to Spanish Puerto Rico and deleted the files in the data folder, like you told me.

I like very much your software. It displays more data and calculations that the original Easyweather doesn´t and with a nice look.
Now it´s time to play with the web feature.
