WS3085 Solar Data

Post by doidgy »

Hi,
I am unable to get my "Solar Radiation" and "Solar UV Index" data to show up in my Cumulusmx dashboard or graphs, all other data shows up great.
I have all the data, including the solar data, showing on the WS3085 display.
Any help would be appreciated.

I think you possibly have not got them ticked in Settings / Station Settings / Graphs.

Thank you for replying,
Unfortunately I have all the boxes ticked (I think that is OK)

Have you tried a forced refresh (CTRL + F5)? Perhaps you are looking at something cached?
Have you tried restarting Cumulus (and then do a forced refresh)?

I have all the data, including the solar data, showing on the WS3085 display but not on the PC dashboard

That suggests that the data isn't being read from your weather station, so is unavailable to be graphed. Could you please zip up the contents of your MXdiags folder and attach to a reply to this topic?

Apologies in advance as I know little about solar/sunshine data or the Fine Offset stations.

Your station appears to be supplying a lot of bad data values - there are lots of lines like this in the log files:

Code: Select all

2021-02-09 10:19:06.298 Ignoring bad data: pressure = 106.7
Have you definitely selected the correct station? If so, perhaps there is some sort of "reset" function you can perform on the station?

I'm sorry I'm not being much help here.

You were right.
I did not see for the life of me the "station type" option with "fine offset with solar sensors" .......doh
Thank you,
All working

Glad I could help.
I see you live in south Wales. I lived in Ystrad Rhondda for just over a year in 2018. Fascinating place - a lot of rainfall to record!!

WS3085 station on Windows 10 64bit.
Is there a setting so that the Solar radiation shows the full decimal number. The 3085 display shows it in decimal W/M sq as does Easyweather Plus but Cumusus 1 b1.9.4 and MX b 3107 do not in either the download data or on the Dashboard . The station can be showing 222.9 but the download/dashboard shows 222 which is almost 1 behind the actual reading.

Cumulus uses integer values for solar irradiation. If your 222.9 value is within +/- 10% of reality you will be doing well!
