Calibration

I'm sorry if this has been asked. I am new here. I couldn't find an exact answer. I have just set up my Maplin Fine Offset weather station. The only thing I am unsure of is if I need to calibrate the air pressure for my height above sea level. In the station settings I have put in my height about sea level, but I don't know if this does anything or is just for general information. Do I need to go to offsets and add millibars based on my height?

No you have to set the Maplins (Fine Offset) console up correctly. This wiki article explains it https://cumuluswiki.org/a/FAQ#Cumulus_d ... et_console

Hi,
I think what water01 is referring to is the vintage Fine Offset stations (correct me if I am wrong David). The new Fine Offset i.e. Ecowitt, Frogitt, Ambient are quite different and I have read quite a bit on the need for calibrating the pressure. Sorry, I don't know the details.

That is what he/she has Paul a Maplins Fine Offset, he/she says so in the post. That is the same as mine and is an old WH1080.

Thanks David,
Jumped the gun... sorry, I was confused with the old Maplin and Watson Fine Offset common in UK and Europe and the new Fine Offset that also appears to be marketed as Watson.

Enjoy,
Paul
