Additional temperature sensor

Post by Doncaster »

Is it possible to connect more than one temperature sensor to the Fine Offset?

Hi,

It might depend which of the many models that Fine Offset manufacture(d), that you're considering. But if you mean the "classic" WH1080, etc. then very probably not. With it's generic USB interface, you can't even run two separate Consoles (with different external sensors and maybe radio frequencies) on one PC at the same time. :(

However, it is said that FO now manufacture the Ecowitt range (aka some of the Froggit stations) which it appears has a very considerable range of expansion options. They might be compatible with the original sensors if you obtain the correct radio frequency (in particular 434 MHz v 868 MHz).

Cheers, Alan.

The new Fine Offset / Ecowitt / Froggit / Misol...etc...with new extra sensors, will only work with Cumulus MX (not Cumulus 1) and you'll need the Ecowitt / Misol GW1000 or Froggit DP1500. You can mix and match branding with this newest generation as long as you match the RF frequency of 433, 868, or 915 MHz. The exception is Ambient console will only see Ambient sensors....but you can use Ambient sensors with Ecowitt branded console ie: GW1000 in 915 MHz version.
