Does anyone out there have any experience of using a "Hydreon Optical Rain Sensor" RG-11 with CumulusMX software?? If so, Id be interested to hear the comments.
The standard (cheap and nasty) tipping bucket sensors don't seem to give anywhere near correct readings and are very prone to malfunctioning given the climatic conditions we encounter here in Spain ... lots of fine particle sand being deposited throughout the year which tends to bung up the rain exit hole in the collector and also gets onto the tipping mechanism too. Thanks.
