invalid json response

using CumulusMX on Linux Cinnamon 18.1 with fine offset station. when I go to dayfile I get the above error message

Do you perhaps not have any data in dayfile yet (first day)?

that is correct, I am attempting the first download of data from my fine offset station which is connected via USB prior to starting CumulusMX. On dashboard-data logs-dayfile I get the Json error message

You’ll get that error if your dayfile is empty. By now it should have data in it, so you shouldn’t get the error and should see the data. If not, then you have some kind of issue between Cumulus and the station - the Mono version, perhaps?
