Same here. My station is not longer getting data from the console via USB. Not sure how to proceed.

I get this error message:

5/14/2018 8:40:23 AM : The station is not initialised
5/14/2018 8:40:23 AM : Byte 0 = DC Byte 1 = BA
5/14/2018 8:40:23 AM : Try resetting the console

I've tried resetting the console and rebooting and new batteries. Nothing seems to work.

It’s getting unexpected data from the station, perhaps because of changed USB drivers.

So is there a way for me to reinitialize my station?

this might be worth taking the issue to Micro$oft since their update has broken the USB driver.

can any of you "roll back" the driver in Device manager?

What build of Windows are we talking about here?

more likely the April update Version 1803 OS Build 17134.48 on of my many works PC on Windows 10 just died from the upgrade. had to do a full reinstall from the Media creation tool. working fine now, but just didnt like the upgrade path it chose.

for people running Windows 10 in a "server" type environment like a CumulusMX server i would recommend they run 1607 or 1703 so that the updates are less but still critical patches are applied.

more info here: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/itpro/w ... nformation

running the latest in this environment will subject you to many new features and many break functionality.

I upgraded to that about 10 days ago. No issues for me, fortunately. I haven't had a single issue on Windows 10, with Cumulus or any other software. I must be a lucky one!

*The* lucky one?

Neither have I to be honest, Windows 10 has been amazingly stable for me, though I cannot apply the 1803 upgrade yet as work IT insist on foisting McAfee on us - a version which is incompatible with 1803 :(

I echo that for all my software including Cumulus 1, although I had an operating system hiccup re its default language. So no USB change in this update for me.

https://www.manula.com/manuals/pws/davi ... -10-issues is now a few years old (it was originally posted in 2015), but it does mention some USB driver problems with some older Windows builds and Davis weather stations, so I thought it ought to be cross-referenced from this topic.

My only problem with April 2018 feature update to Windows 10 (64 bit now on Version 1803) was that I lost my previous English (UK) language pack and was given a English (USA) language pack instead and so initially I saw various unfamiliar spellings. When I first tried to rectify this by 'adding' a UK language pack, the PC promptly rebooted and reinstalled the update again removing that English UK pack taking me back to languages as after the first update, apparently the old 'add' Language packs are not compatible! Next I downloaded something called the new English (UK) language pack through the windows store, and that successfully installed despite the 'load' button doing nothing; but it was slightly messy telling W10 to use that as default, as language options are no longer in "Control Panel" and the replacement language dialogue in "settings" does not seem to respond to any buttons even with admin permissions. I can't delete English (USA), nor the start-up task giving me the option to change language, but I do now have English (UK) as default on startup.
Of course this was all on a day when I had other plans, but as my PC was left on overnight without anything other than server and Cumulus running, Microsoft obviously judged I was ready for update - it did display a ready to update message, but that would not let me access anything else, so I had to accept the update without shutting my server or Cumulus!!!
