FineOffset replacement...parts?...new station??

Post by bnwrx »

My tale of wo.....
Yesterday evening I noticed Cumulus was not reporting any Wind data, no speeds,no direction. When daylight came today I inspected what I could from my deck. My wind sensor is on a mast attached to my chimney and is not easy to access. Nothing looked out of the ordinary so..... up to the roof I go...pitch is 12/1 and has a little snow on it!!. Closer inspection revealed that my "extension phone cable" that connects the wind sensor to the transmitter(about 50 feet) had a crack in it and bare wire was showing. Making a long story short...I replaced the cable and while hoisting up the mast, the wind cups "bumped" the chimney and one of them broke!!!. I was able to salvage a portion of the wind cup and have "re-attached" it to the others as best as I could. I have been looking online for a replacement wind sensor but it looks as though FineOffset quit making these. Does anyone in the States know of a supplier of these FineOffset wind sensors? If not, are there any newer models available that work with Cumulus? Again they must be available here in the US. My station most closely resemble the WH1080.

Thanks for any help with this.....

There's (Chinese) sellers on Ebay with parts. Here's one for instance:

Have a look here, this is for a WS1080, but it should get you in the neighborhood...
