Script error

Post by apenwith »

I was trying to post a new topic from the help - contact - forum page and kept getting a script error - something like helpbox was nul. Whether I clicked yes or no to continue the error popped up again. Had to use task manager to shut cumulus down.
Regards.

It works fine for me - I'm posting this from within the help browser. I should probably make it so it opens the link in your web browser rather than inside the help, though.

Without the actual error message it's a bit hard to track down. How far did you get - did you actually get to the forum, logged in and tried to post something?

I managed to reproduce the error - as before into the forum via help and logged in
the error message was
Line 27
Char 2
Error 'document.forms[...]helpbox is null or not an object
code 0
url https://cumulus.hosiene.co.uk/postingmphp? mode=post&f=11

Hope that helps - but going in through the browser is fine

Right, I see why I couldn't reproduce it before, you have to hover over the 'bbcode' boxes above to get the error. Clearly something in PHPBB doesn't like something about the help browser. I don't think there's anything I can do about that (other than to try to make the help browser open the link in another window).

Steve

Edit: Adding target="_blank" to the links in the help makes the links open up in the web browser rather than inside the help browser itself, so that avoids the PHPBB problem. I'll change all the external links in the help.
