At school we have an Orion WRM928NX system, I want to know if the Cumulus 2 software will run on the harware.
The weather station connected to the serial port to a PC running XP-Pro, I would like to save all the data on the network PC onto the server (windows 2003) to make it available to all the pupils!
Any help would be helpful.
Andrew

If you mean Oregon Scientific, then yes, it will. But I would strongly advise that you don't use Cumulus 2. Did you have a particular reason for wanting to use it?ahankiewicz wrote:Orion WRM928NX

Hello
Not as such, I just thought that Cumulus 2 is the most recent version!
What is the best verion, and will it support a mapped drive? I would like to save all weather information on the school server to make it available to all pupils - any comments would welcome.
Thanks
Andrew

Re: Weather Station Hardware
Andrew,
Steve is away all week. The current version of Cumulus (v1.9.1) is available on the Download page. CumulusSetup.exe. Remember to read the readme file there too.
If you share the Cumulus folder then that will be available to all authorised users. The data subfolder holds the actual data. Remember to take regular backups if curious eyes are looking at the data files.

Re: Weather Station Hardware
Hello Andrew,
You may be able to have cumulus upload the web pages to the server so the students can view it on your intranet.
I'm sure that the community here would be able to help you if needed.

Re: Weather Station Hardware
Have you definitely chosen the correct serial port in Cumulus? If you turn on the debug log, the debug.log file will show what raw data Cumulus is receiving, if any.
