Hi
I wonder if anyone can help please.
I have a large CSV file with daily rainfall total from 1910 until present day, yes 1910 !!! to make any sense of it I thought I should put it into monthly amounts. But the only way I can see I can do it is to add each month up separately. As the sheet is one continuous line of data I have to split each month insert a blank line and add up the data and is proving very time consuming.
I wondered if anyone had any thoughts on how to import the CSV file into a database so I can obtain the monthly and yearly data quickly and easy ?
Data is from Coniston in Cumbria and is one of the longest unbroken rainfall stations in Cumbria
Many Thanks

Re: Converting a CSV file
Hard to say without seeing the data Paul,
But in general, I'd flip the data into columns, then use a pivot table to summarise by month/year totals.
If you send me the file I enjoy an Excel challenge - weird!
