Before I read these reply posts this morning I checked the site and thought I'd destroyed it :o :o

WOW was designed to store PWS data and make it available to others through the website UI. An API was not part of the design.
Perhaps it will be replaced by another system at some point that meets your requirements.
At the moment you are asking the equivalent of, say, using your car to move furniture from one house to another.
HansR wrote: Sun 26 Apr 2020 12:45 pmKNMI does not deliver automated data extraction for the PWSs either.
That is because it is the same system.

I guess it will lead to me stopping to supply data to WOW.
HansR, could it be that it not currently manned due to the Covid-19 lockdown and people having to work from home? That certainly is the situation in the UK, not sure about Netherlands.
In NL I am trying to get in touch with the KNMI a bit longer than that and even when COVID-19 broke out, the email exchange continued (without relevant WOW contact)
In the UK I just recently had mailcontact and despite COVID-19 I got a friendly mail back saying my mail was forwarded to the relevant responsible person.

In both cases I think COVID-19 has nothing to do with it. We work differently now, but the world has not come to a total standstill.
Could have been though ;)

Which could be done if I had a car.

I know.

I understand the current status of the system.
I want to talk with them about what I want to do, why and what I need.
Why is that impossible?
Don't talk technique, talk human.

It's not impossible. But you are unlikely to get an answer from a team that supports an existing system that does not do what you want it to do. In the Met Office they have a contact us page with a variety of methods of passing on your ideas and getting a response. KNMI offer the same.

I recommend this book.

I never contacted a team, I asked a question and to get in touch with somebody who could answer.

@Ray/Freddie your calls are answered, back to updating https://wow.metoffice.gov.uk/observatio ... yyb96scwgc

Seems like some past data is not there. Wonder if that takes away my past Gold Awards

Enjoy,
Paul

@freddie:
Just to inform you, I did get a response and have been given some limited access to an API.
So, one step completed :)
