Forum links from Cumulus user's web pages

Post by freddie »

There are links to the Cumulus forum and downloads pages in all standard web page templates distributed with the software - as well as some other templates such as Saratoga templates and Brian's Home Weather templates. Currently there are redirects from the forum and download links which ensure these existing links continue to work - but you shouldn't rely on the redirects being in place forever. So it is a good idea to change them when you get a spare few minutes.

Forum URL should change from https://cumulus.hosiene.co.uk to https://cumulus.hosiene.co.uk/
Download URL should change from http://sandaysoft.com/products/cumulus to https://cumuluswiki.wxforum.net/a/Software

For Cumulus 1, the forum URL can be changed for the standard templates from the software settings, using the following:
Configuration | Internet | Forum URL

For Cumulus MX, the forum URL can be changed for the standard templates from the software settings, using the following:
Settings | Internet Settings | Forum URL

Links for download of the software (the "powered by" link) can be found in the individual template files in the "web" folder of your installation (typically named *T.htm). Remember to change any other template files created since installation.

For the Saratoga templates, you need to edit the "Settings-weather.php" file, which will change the address in the footer.

If you have created any "credits" pages acknowledging Cumulus software then it may be an idea to change links in here too.

Any errors/omissions you spot above, please mention in this thread.

Many thanks (especially to HRVistaWeather for highlighting this).

Freddie, In my Saratoga Templates. the file is "Settings-weather.php"

line 63:

Code: Select all

$SITE['WXsoftwareURL']  = 'http://sandaysoft.com/products/cumulus';
to

Code: Select all

$SITE['WXsoftwareURL']  = 'https://cumuluswiki.wxforum.net/a/Software';
you could also add

Code: Select all

<li><a href="https://cumulus.hosiene.co.uk/" title="CuForum">Cumulus Forum</a></li>
to the menubar.php line 96

Code: Select all

<ul>
