Windows 10 Anniversary Update

Post by avoorpool »

For years I've had my desktop running 24/7 with 5 mins updates from Cumulus, including when upgrading to Windows 10.
Since the latest anniversary update of Windows 10, my desktop logs-off every day automatically.
I'm traveling often for business, and it's very annoying to see the latest weather update was 95 hours ago since Cumulus is shut down during the
Windows user log-off.
No reliable weather update information in this way.....
Any suggestions??

Thanks, Arthur

welcome to the new microsoft. Icant answer the log off part, and its got to be some setting, unless its doing it auto update that you really have no control over anymore. But you can look at this http://wiki.sandaysoft.com/a/FAQ#How_do ... _starts.3F
Now I dont know if that will run the program with out you logging on or not. its worth a try

I think the issue is that you need to set up Windows to automatically sign in to a user account when starting. This page shows two methods to do that:

Then you need to use a scheduled task or another method to start Cumulus automatically.

I did this on a Windows XP machine for several years until I moved to a RP3.
