worst job!

Post by daj »

I just had to tell someone....I was driving earlier and I think I have seen the most boring job in the world......

Washing traffic cones, on the road, with a bucket of water and a cloth.

The poor chap had about 2 miles of them to do -- I wonder if there is a market for a machine to do this?

I'm a software developer :)

But the stuff I work on is very boring compared to Cumulus. Our main customers are government departments, mainly HMRC and DWP.

Flippin' 'eck! I work for the MoD. Do you want me to put a good word in for you? What exactly is it that you do? You'd have to be better than EDS aka Atlas! They've taken over control of our IS infrastructure including all PCs and they run like dogs now!! :x
Cheers,
Ray, Cheshire.

I work for a large multinational supplier of IT systems and services. Hmm.... maybe it's EDS? ;)

Brilliant -- so true. EDS would bring it in way over budget and several years late!

This morning they've announced that they plan to make 10% of the UK staff redundant, so I may not have a boring job for much longer anyway :(

The bit I work for is making quite large profits, but the worry is that they say they will be targetting areas which have "excess capability", and due to a cockup with the budget last year, I (and a number of my cow orkers) spent a lot of time not being allowed to do any real work as there was no budget for it. But still getting paid. No, I don't understand how the bean counters operate either.

Oh well: Que sera, sera :)

Ah - it was deliberate. It's a 'standard' typo, popularized by Scott Adams.
