1040.57 was recorded at 11:06 here then started dropping but now it's rising again. 1043.35 is my record in January 2010.

There is a monster high cell over western Siberia with 1050+ central pressure but it needs pretty cold air to get that low.

LATER: The UK Met Office's synoptic charts show the UK cell intensifying until 00:00 Wednesday with a central pressure of 1043 in the North Sea. So I suppose we might see 1041 here Mark but your record looks safe.
Cheers,
Ray, Cheshire.

When the pressure is really that high, how does the weather feel? Wind, heat etc.
I'm in the tropics, and we don't go over 1020.

We got to a similar high yesterday 1040mB, the wind has swung to a light north easterly, a temperature outside of 3.4C and it feels REALLY cold.
