My October record set back in 2010 was 1.11" on 3/10. It may go tomorrow if this storm is going to move north and sit over central England for over 24 hours. Amber weather warning just issued by the Met Office for 12:00 Sat to 06:00 Sun.

Here's a UK MetOffice chart showing rain totals from 06Z Saturday to 06Z Sunday:

Ties in well with their amber warning for here and further North.

Crikey!

I must admit, I have seen heavier rain, but only in short bursts. This was close to torrential for very long periods. I got woken up at 5am, so I popped downstairs to watch it in the porch.. At that time I think I had around 22mm total. I went back to bed and overslept, woke up at 8:30 and saw my station saying 70mm :o

Luckily, live on a hill with fast draining soil, but even then the lawn was beginning to flood, and the flower beds. My 20,000 litre pond flooded, not seen that before!

Hello everybody.

Yesterday my weather station recorded three new absolute records (data since 2012). (Sangonera la Verde - Murcia / Spain).

Maximum temperature: 44.4ºC
Humidity: 1%.
Dew point: -27.4ºC

Luckily the intense heat only lasted for 1 day. Today we have returned to normal temperatures for the season.

https://www.meteosangonera.es/estaciones/#3101-tab-5

The maximum temperature is still some way short of the highest maximum temperature recorded in my area by an official weather station: 46.1ºC. (Weather station located 3km away).

Highest September temperature for this station since I started in May 2009. 30.0C at 15:49. I probably won't be alone.
