Amazing airflow there Steve. I broke my all time gust record twice yesterday, the final figure was 49 mph. Not up to Orkney standards!

What a great topic! Well I would say that as I suspect I can add a few.
Have enjoyed reading (skim reading) my way though the posts...
Time to add to the list.

Temperature High 47.5 °C 16 Jan 2009 3:00 pm
(The official temp was 46, I am usually about 2 deg higher being in suburbia)

Temperature Minimum Highest 30.9 °C 10 Nov 2010 3:00 am

Apparent Temperature High 51.5 °C 22 Feb 2013 1:03 pm

Heat Index High 59.1 °C 8 Mar 2013 12:37 pm

Dry Spell Longest 156 days to 16 Dec 2009
The official was 181 days (I am 5.5km from the official station)

To give some background to my location. South Hedland is a sister town to Port Hedland (more well known) only 20km away. We are also 200km away from the hottest town in Australia, Marble Bar.
We also get Cyclones come through here. Since the stations inception we have managed to miss most, and the biggest for the last 5 years that went through, my station was down. So this year I am ready. Part of me is excited about a big one and the other part of me is not out of safety concerns. But the town is built for it so we should be good.

Seeing as I've only just joined, and only had my WS running properly for a day and a half, I don't have much in the way of official Cummulus records, but have attached a couple of rainfall charts from 2010 and this year for anyone interested.

And as I just joined also,I thought I would share a record from this morning..I am not sure how to go about it but it was -36.2C on my weather station early this morning..but that was a far cry from the -50C windchill we had going.

Just for kicks I checked the F equivalent on the Environment Canada site and it was:
Wind:
NW 9 mph
Wind Chill:
-60F

I'm staying in tonight.Happy New Year!

Hi Barry,

I have been browsing your site and very impressed, I used to be working at Dampier and Cape Lambert however now on the Gold Coast.
I was wondering if you could give a me a step by step procedure on how to install the flag counter, i am not very computer literate bear in mind.

Cheers

Not up to Steve's standards, but not bad: -

Highest Wind Gust 67.8 mph 05.19 27/12/13

Highest Wind Speed 52.9 mph 06.44 27/12/13

Highest Wind Run 849.9 miles on 27/12/13

“It's snowing still," said Eeyore gloomily.
"So it is."
"And freezing."
"Is it?"
"Yes," said Eeyore. "However," he said, brightening up a little, "we haven't had an earthquake lately.”

New rain alltime records today we've had severe thunderstorm and hewavy rain in The Netherlands at my place it's less severe as in some other places some regions over here are exceeding 200 mm rain TODAY

these are my records by now as I think the hourly record and rainrate will not be higher today.

New all time high temp record set today...
47.7 C 12:42pm a tad warm... (117.86 F) The official temp reading was 47.4 C at 12pm

Funny after a day like this, getting around in the evening when it had dropped to 35 it felt nice and coolish. It is amazing what the body will acclimatise to.

Not wildly exciting, but don't get many days like this in February. 8.7 hrs sunshine recorded out of possible 9.2 hrs.
