I was in New Delhi once in 1994 when it reached 51.4C, felt like someone was frying the top my head (folically challenged !!), got out of the sun fast into the air conditioning and then the power went off (sigh)!!

Highest Hourly Rainfall 37.5mm at 16:50 on 20 April 2010 ag0044 in Australia

* Although it is recorded by Cumulus, it doesn't appear on the records page, I think WestOz's record of 78 days without rain should be listed.
On the 4th March 2013 I recorded a rain rate of 345mmhr over a 48 second period (4.6mm) and in that hour also recorded 64.8mm. The monsoon trough that passed over the top of Australia that caused this rain event is about to spawn into a Cyclone east of Australia by the 10th March '13.
My Highest Daily Rainfall is 232.5mm on the 15th Feb 2011 (Cyclone Carlos).
Highest Monthly Rainfall is 757.2mm in Feb 2011.
Longest dry period is 152 days to 7th October 2011.

Either you haven't set your barometer correctly for sea-level pressure, or your sensor is faulty, or Cumulus was unable to read the pressure offset when it started up. That figure is almost the same as the lowest pressure ever recorded in the UK, in Crieff, in 1884.

The sea-level pressure in Reading on that day was around 1015 mb.

Hmmm teaches me to check the logs correctly. it was 1026 -> 925 -> 1027mb in between readings (10min interval)
Whoops. :(

Where did you get that historic data from Steve? Would be nice to compare mine to theirs.

This is quite a good place for historical data these days: http://wow.metoffice.gov.uk/

You can compare with other users (you can upload your own data there using Cumulus), and you can select just Met Office sites if you want to be sure you're getting accurate information.

I always check my records for that very reason. All my records are verified, as I have had to amend some before, I also calibrate the pressure every month and especially before any major change in pressure. My Fine Offset drifts up about 1-2hPa a month. I currently have a 25hPa offset and I presume one day it's going to die, until then I will keep on top of it.

19 days without rain up to yesterday 5th March. Beating my previous record of 17 days. Not quite as dry as Darwin  , but quite a spell for a UK winter. It looks like it will rain today.

Well, we only got a few spots of rain yesterday, not enough to wet the ground or cause a 0.1mm bucket tip, so the record is now 20 days. It IS raining today, the day I have to pack the car and fit roof rails etc :(

Here's something that only occured to me when I checked my rain records. I had set the highest daily rainfall in 2011 but didn't set hourly rain record until this year, although totally possible, I wondered why the daily record, which set a 72 year record at our airport, didn't set the hourly record. So I investigated. I opened the "Edit Dayfile.txt" on Cumulus to check. Low and behold, the data for that wasn't recorded. It wasn't until I installed a later version that it recorded those detail (and others like apparent temp etc.). So I went back to the monthlylog.txt files, put it in Excel, created an easy formula to work out hourly rain, and low and behold I had set an even higher record that I didn't know about. Hehehe. So you can ignore the last record:
Highest Hourly Rainfall 64.8mm on 4th March 2013 by Palmerston Weather in Australia
and replace with
Highest Hourly Rainfall 98.7mm on 15th February 2011 by Palmerston Weather in Australia

My highest ever 24 hour rainfall registration was 465 mm measured on 27 Jan 2013. This was ex tropical cyclone Oswald & I recorded 721 mm rain from that event in total.
