Re: Arduino and 1-wire based home built weather station.
Thoughts so far on the data format (as CSV file - maybe one file per day) :- Record number (index) Date/time - yyyy/mm/dd hh:mm:ss Wind speed - dd.d Wind Direction - LLL (N ENE NE etc.) Light Level - ddd Outside Temperature - dd.d Outside Humidity - dd Rainfall - ddd Atmospheric Pressure - dddd Ins...

Re: Arduino and 1-wire based home built weather station.
Here's a photo I took of my test setup for the DHT22 humidity and temperature sensor. You can also see a 1-wire digital temperature chip in a little copper P clip plus LCD display and breadboard. If you fancy a more retro looking display, I was much taken by this I read about today: http://www.seee...

Re: 1-wire/Arduino/Cumulus ?
I have now got well into Arduino and think it's the "bee's knees" I'd really like to have a go with one myself, but there just aren't enough hours in the day. There are Ethernet and even WiFi units that can be connected to the Arduino so it can provide a fully fledged web server. There ar...

Yet another rain gauge failure mechanism
My rain gauge has been stuck for most of this month. Shaking it got it going again for a day or two, but it stuck again so I took it apart to sort it out. I found a very small piece of metal attached to the magnet on the bucket see-saw, just enough to rub against the reed switch housing and stop the...

Re: USB protocol for TP1080WC? Want to hook it to an Arduino
If the Arduino has a libusb implementation then it should be fairly easy to get data from the weather station. Have a look at http://code.google.com/p/fowsr/

Re: Fed up with Fine Offset. I want to start from scratch?
Anyone looking at Arduino or similar boards might also consider Nanode http://nanode.eu/ - an Arduino compatible board with RF and Ethernet connectivity. (I know nothing about either, but keep thinking it would be an interesting thing to play with if I didn't have so many other things I ought to be ...

But they've now got a better idea of the public's susceptibility and lack of analytical skills which will help them formulate policy at the next election.

I stand corrected. Sorry for not paying attention.41south wrote:41south wrote: Edit: Easyweather also locks up so I don't think it's anything to do with Cumulus

Ah ha! This is the first report I've seen of a lock up with EasyWeather. Do you run it continuously, 24/7?aurion45 wrote:Since I had my WH3081 replaced, my memory has lock up once using Easyweather

Re: Problems with station communication
I will throw this one into the mix just in case its relevant. I worked with USB a lot when working as a software engineer on the UK/US chipped passports. The devices that read the chips on the production lines were USB attached and we had problems with the readers loosing connections to the PC runn...

Re: Problems with station communication
From 'other' software anecdotally the problem seems to have started with more recent examples of the stations, older stations do not seem to showing the problem. So maybe if people could say when the station was bought it may be interesting. That's the first point I was going to make. I have two st...

Have all your batteries been from the same source / batch? I don't suppose they might be counterfeit. I believe batteries are a popular item for product fakers.brookvale0 wrote:Good job Duracell are on a BOGOFF offer at present.

Re: Maplin W96GY (WH1080) minimum log interval
So I have now been running like this since Sunday (Wednesday evening now), and have had no freezing. I have restarted wview a few times, but this is only because I'm still developing my setup. It has now cycled round the entire memory, and has looped back to the beginning. I have had a few instance...

Re: Data won't download after running for three weeks
I've not had a repeat so far, 10 days and counting. What I've been doing is to clear the memory once or twice a day on the console, just in case its something to do with a bad memory location. fingers crossed.... I don't think that will help. "Clearing" the memory only resets the count of...

I'll be interested to hear if you run into any reliability problems.Lloyd wrote:I have discovered that it can be set to 1 minute, and has been running like that for just under a day.
