Steve,
I now have over 24 monthly log files since I started with Cumulus in May 2009. Once a monthly log is written to for the last time can it be zipped up or does Cumulus still require access to it for other purposes?
Welcome to the Cumulus Support forum.

Re: Finally joined the forum!
Many have been less than impressed with the beta WOW site but because it's beta it should improve. Now that you're running Cumulus the website can come when you're ready. Small steps.

Welcome to the forum Richard. It looks like you've done your homework on instrument positioning.
Will you be setting up a website? In the short term you can upload to WUnderground - http://www.wunderground.com/

Re: Graphs - Weekly or Specified Time Period
Your station longitude is shown as E01 56 43 but that places you south of Calais, northern France. It should be W of the meridian I think.

Re: The Great British Weather
Possibly it would - but to make a blanket statement that showing a satellite image is better than a normal photo is, well, crazy at best, ludicrous at worst. That is what I commented on - not the content of the program. In that case all I shall say on the matter is that was an opinion and no opinio...

Re: Background for website wanted
Geoff, You're welcome to use any of my images. The photo on my website was taken in South Africa in March. I noticed cumulus building quite dramatically and took several photos with the intention of using them on my site. The attached photo is a small image of a 3000*2000 pixel image taken with a Ni...

Re: The Great British Weather
The AVERAGE person can't tell what type of cloud they are seeing on a satellite image (with the possible exception of cyclones) - ground based images not only have more effect, but can tell the viewer exactly what they are looking at. Even for a meterologist it takes a lot of experience to determin...

Re: The Great British Weather
I think you'll find that quite a few Brits would be able to understand what they're seeing on a VISIBLE light satellite image of the UK. It gets difficult in winter with widespread snow cover and some cloud cover but those days are quite rare. I'm well aware what IR images are. I was referring to &q...

Re: The Great British Weather
Probably because most people we all know live on the surface of the earth and not 150 km or 36,000 km orbiting above it. Loks like we need a sarcasm button! :o People can and will relate to views of the sky taken from their own vantage point - the majority of people do not understand channleised IR...

Re: Build 1003 - no Heat Index on graph
Thanks Steve. I did wonder if it only kicked in at a certain temp. Some of us might consider a temp of 25C to be quite hot - especially you up there!

Build 1003 - no Heat Index on graph
Hi Steve,
Running build 1003 I decided to add Heat Index to my graphs. But it doesn't show on the graph either within Cumulus or on my webpages.

I haven't used your standard HTML pages for some time. Is that why Heat Index isn't showing?

Re: My web site needs help
First of all, thank you for taking the time to comment on my post. As for the Back Yard USA header, I named it that in Cumulus config settings. Should it have a different name? You're welcome. :) If you entered it in the location field then it will eventually show up on your website. But 'backyard'...

Re: My web site needs help
Welcome to Cumulus Mike. I'm like you, I find much of the web language a mystery and only change things very slowly as I build an understanding of HTML. A couple of observations on your website and Cumulus settings... 1) You say you're in the US but your longitude of 90E places you in southern China...

Re: The Great British Weather
I was disappointed too. Why ask people to send photos of the sky when you could just show a satellite image instead? And not a mention of a warm front, cold front or occluded front. The basic elements of a low pressure. The analysis of where our weather comes from was a good start but I'm not sure i...

Re: Sunshine Recorder
Thanks Alan. I suppose the chances of you getting snow in Cormwall are quite small but your colleague in Denmark is almost certain to get snow. It will be interesting to know how things pan out.
Well done on getting cooperation with the MO. That's a feather in both your caps!
