Re: .conflict and .part files

Thanks Steve. I've done a bit more digging and found the culprit is BT Cloud. http://community.bt.com/t5/Other-BB-Queries/BT-Cloud-Word-Documents/m-p/843900/highlight/true#M50221 http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/office/forum/office_2013_release-word/conflict-extension/cdd762a8-12c7-4f1f-bc0e-f26ba...

.conflict and .part files

I've been looking at the data files that Cumulus produces to try to eliminate some bum data. I seem to have several files like Apr14log.txt.conflict, Month.ini.conflict, today.ini.conflict as well as one Apr14log.txt.part. Can I just delete them or are they the result of a problem with my system? V1...

Re: Aircraft (planes, google loon etc) spotting.

zetka, many thanks for your input. Not sure I understand what a shorted quarter wave stub is, I'll look it up. Can I point you at a very, very long discussion on the FlightRadar24 website about the "Best Antenna" for 1090Mhz. I'm sure your knowledge will be appreciated there. http://forum....

Re: Aircraft (planes, google loon etc) spotting.

Sorry for the delay but here is a suitable amp for ADS-B use http://www.ebay.com/itm/RCA-IN-SATELLITE-AMPLIFIER-CVHD903-/271708865557 There are loads available on ebay but they need to cover 950MHz to 2050MHz. The important bit is 950MHz as the lower end. A few more bits are needed. A power supply t...

Re: Aircraft (planes, google loon etc) spotting.

Hi guys, I see that you have been busy since my last visit. I've attached a couple of pictures for a very simple to make "cantenna". It gives much better range than the stubby that comes with the dongle. The Red Bull is my version. Add some waterproofing to the joint where the wire pushes ...

Re: Aircraft (planes, google loon etc) spotting.

Hi Bob & Kurt, I don't visit this forum very often so I've only just found this post. I've been playing with the R820T dongle and been testing lots of different antennas. I got poor results with the CoCo. How did you work out your element length and do you have a shorted top? I've settled on a 6...

Re: I wish Cumulus would be LINUX compatible.

The new version probably won't be free. The donation model isn't working; it's not fair that some people donate (in some cases quite a lot) but the majority of users don't bother, but still get to use the software and get the same level of support. It was naive of me to think that most people who u...

Wind vane problem

My wind vane has been reporting a Northerly wind for the last couple of months. A couple of weeks ago I swung the whole unit on the pole so the arm which was pointing South now points North. The wind vane is still reporting a Northerly wind. The vane is turning OK. We've had a light Westerly all day...

Google forms and script

Anyone here using Google forms for anything? I'm trying to simplify the membership applications for our beekeeping association. I've got the form working and the data gets stored in a spreadsheet. All OK so far. What I want to do is use script to validate some of the data entered on the form. The fo...

I borrowed several books from my local library and that was the best (in my opinion). Steve, I guess your local library might not have the choice that mine does ;)

Re: Responsive Web Design - Desktop or Mobile Site -

Good effort ;) I too have been trying to get my head round Responsive design.

I found a good book Responsive Web design with HTML5 and CSS3 by Ben Frain ISBN 9781849693189 1849693188, v

Build 1059

Hi Steve, I've had a couple of Cumulus crashes in the last 3 weeks. Until now Cumulus has been rock solid on 3 different laptops for the last 4/5 years. I know I'm a few releases behind but I don't usually upgrade unless there is a new feature I want to use. I've attached diags and bugreport for you...
