Re: About low battery transmitter 1
@stevewx I have a Davis Vantage Vue and do my endeavours typically baby step fashion. I saw a LOW BATTERY TRANSMITTER 5 today but it went away tonight. I have read you should replace the battery within a day or two after seeing this on the Davis Vantage Vue Console. As explained on another post here...

Is there a way to read the Tx battery voltage from an ISS
Just curious if there is a way to read the voltage from a Vantage Vue ISS?
Found a old Linux program for ISS connectivity that is supposed to show the Tx voltage on the battery.
I have not given it a try at this time.

Re: RaspberryPi script to display weatherstation values via
Very nice Jank!!! Testing your script here now. Here my CumulusMX is located in the root drive of the RPi2. Here doing automation software on another RPi2. I can today run CumulusMX and the automation software on the same RPi2. IE: /CumulusMX Changed these lines to show: #!/bin/bash export LANG=en_U...

Re: Cumulus 1 and Cumulus MX sharing a serial port?
21st of July, 2015 Today updated the serial cable to the serial server to a buffered serial cable. I have not seen any issues to date with the Davis Console ==> serial server ==> Cumulus 1 on Wintel server plus Cumulus MX on the RPi2. Well one issue I have seen is that if I turn on the debug stuff ...

Re: System.NullReferenceException
I have had issues with most current version of Mono on the RPi2 running other software that utilizes Mono. HomeGenie works fine with most current version of Mono at this time. Homeseer does not. I have not tried the newest version of Mono on the CumulusMX RPi2. I have locked mine at one version modi...

Question for Steve
Just a curiosity question and I didn't know where to post the question.
@Steve
Do you have a guesstimate as to the number of users of your software?
I noticed that CumulusMX has a registration number or similar built in. I never really saw that in Cumulus 1 (well never really looked).

Re: suggestions for weather station
Good point Ray and thank-you. Unrelated to weather stations / Cumulus but rather automation in general I am sort very much of a wired type person today. I do prefer a wired weather station over a wireless weather station. (not in the cloud nor am I am fanboy of the assumption that one company OS is ...

Re: suggestions for weather station
@Gordon, I have a Fine Offset configured at one location and it has worked fine over the years. That said I also have a Davis Vantage Vue (well and use a Davis Vantage Pro 2). Initially before placement I did take the two weather stations apart and liked the build of the Davis Vantage Vue more than ...

Re: CumulusMX Crashes on RPi
I thought it might be possible to backup the RPi to the server for safekeeping of the data. Baby steps one step at a time works for me.... There are many methodologies of backup once you get in to the whole RPi2 mode of doing things. Put your Wintel cap and Linux cap on and blend them together to g...

Re: For fun, watch a whole season time lapse in 3 minutes.
Very nice Chris!!!! You have me looking to do the same here now. Slowly here have been evolving to using IP HD cameras. Noticed now the newer ones are little computers with their own RTC clocks and such. I have bits and pieces on my workbench. With the more cpu and memory in these cameras I can talk...

Re: CumulusMX Crashes on RPi
Personally here use multiple SSH sessions to watch. That said many times I can see what is going on just typing top or in a second / third SSH session. Many times also just skip the SSH piece and use Webmin to watch the console and then leave the page. Webmin is an alternative methodology of managin...

Re: Intel Compute stick
I like the new generation of Atom Intel CPUs made for tablets. Here have been playing with the PipoX7 with the Atom Baytrail CPU. It runs Ubuntu 14.04 LTS 64 bit faster than the included Windows 8.1 lite 32 bit device. Well too it runs faster than the RPi2. It does include a nic, wlan, bluetooth and...

Re: CumulusMX Crashes on RPi
Yeah I would personally utilize the script that Steve mentions in his post above. Here I have installed Webmin as a means of a GUI management piece to the pie. I utilize both Upstart / cron (similiar to the script) and watch the console sometimes from Webmin. I will probably switch over to the poste...
