Re: WeatherLink Live now of interest.
Off the top of my head, I think this is a tab-delimited file. So looking at it as a plain text file is misleading. Try importing it into eg Excel and then reassess.

Re: WeatherLink Live now of interest.
The only official/recommended approach as far as I know is to do the upload in one hit. Unfortunately because the whole Weatherlink.com platform is managed and supported direct from Davis (though actually hosted on the Amazon Web Services servers - which is probably a good thing!), even dealers don'...

Re: WeatherLink Live now of interest.
But is 6.0.5 required simply for exporting my data for later importing into a Weather Link Pro account? It seems doubtful since it's just an export feature and I can't imagine v6 is going to reformat 13 years of data. To the best of my knowledge, the archive data format has not changed since about ...

Re: WeatherLink Live now of interest.
@RayProudfoot: Sadly I only have time to dip in here occasionally. I suspect most points re WLL have already been answered upthread, but please post if you have any further specific questions. All I would say is that trying to choose a more modern 'logger' to supersede eg a traditional USB one isn't...

Re: VP2 Diagnostics
VP2/Vue wireless 'channels' are just different time delays on the same set of frequencies. The only time that changing channels helps (other than by coincidence) is if you have another Davis station within range broadcasting on the same channel. First step in trying to troubleshoot reception issues ...

Re: Davis Instrument news
For anyone interested, the Davis name came from the original founder Bill Davis who sold a plastic sextant. Then Bob Selig and Jim Acquistapace seem to have bought that business around 50 years ago. At the time the business was focused on marine (ie boating) products and part of Davis still services...

Re: WLL Indoor sensor accuracy
The inside temperature accuracy for a Weatherlink Live unit is specified as ±0.3°C. But I'm not sure how much I'd read into that - these specifications are usually the intrinsic sensor accuracy (ie the accuracy as if the bare PCB was out on a bench with some air current blowing across it). Inside th...

Re: Selecting inputs from more than one Vantage Vue ISS
Not sure I've understood your set-up and aims completely at a quick glance and don't know how far apart the two consoles might be, but is it possible you could: 1. Set the anemometer console to retransmit on an unused channel; 2. Pick up the retransmitted channel as an anemometer Tx on the other con...

Re: Netbook failed - Unable to install WeatherLink on W7 SP1
I have a spare Windows 7 laptop and I tried to install WeatherLink from the original CD. A Sorry but a bit late to the party here. Not much consolation I know, but this sort of thing shouldn't be happening. Looks like some sort of very obscure Windows error, maybe laptop-specific, that Davis may or...

Re: A CMX features summary page for CMX
Doesn't this do it https://cumuluswiki.org/a/About_Cumulus ? Well, now you've drawn my attention to it, then yes that's a good start. But a couple of comments: If I go to the obvious landing page for CMX information which would be https://cumuluswiki.org (or what then appears as: https://cumuluswik...

A CMX features summary page for CMX
This is a very simple suggestion (from a very simple person :D ), which is for a page somewhere very prominently on the CMX wiki that just summarises the main features of CMX. Unless I've missed it, I can't currently spot a page that serves this purpose. It could be as long or as short as you like, ...

Re: Customising the local dashboard
I haven't loaded any of this yet, but using this is it going to be possible to say have a toggle switch for wide/narrow formats, and would each format still be responsive to screen width? First off, I'm really no expert in this CSS stuff - just an amateur with an interest in improving how well weat...

Re: Customising the local dashboard
Looking good! A couple of follow-up thoughts: It may well be that all many users need is for the dashboard to be viewed on one screen only. But if you might be viewing on a phone or tablet as well as eg a PC screen then don't forget that it's relative easy with CSS Grid to define different layouts f...

Re: Customising the local dashboard
OK, a couple of comments: The 100% width is set by the media query in the first line of the CSS, but it not allowed to go below 800px. If you decrease the width of the browser, you'll see that the text-only columns shrink in width (ie there is a degree of responsiveness) until the 800px width is rea...

Re: Customising the local dashboard
Reviving this from the (semi) dead. John, care to share, at least snippets, of the new index.html and css files? I've been trying to configure this same layout as you did, the getting tripped up on understanding/manipulating the bootstrap css files... Sorry, only just spotted this post. OK, the sit...
